pen with cap |
band crazing |
band shrinkage |
correct "GREEN" nib |
correct ripple feed |
faint imprint |
brassed cap band, lever & clip ball |
crisp barrel end mark |
Ther good news is the red ripple hard rubber has very good color, with little fading, and the pen has no chips, cracks, gouges or bite marks. It has a good sac and writes beautifully. The less good news is the crazing and shrinking of the green cap band and brassing of the gold filled cap band, clip ball and lever. With some polishing, the brassing is not so apparent. The imprint is pretty faint as well, though the "7" stamp on the barrel end is very sharp.
Replacement color bands for Waterman #7 pens are available at Jake's Pens (no affiliation).
